Shopping in Branson

Branson is a shoppers' paradise - from name brand outlets to handcrafted treasures, gourmet goodies to collectibles, and everything in between. You'll find it in Branson!

For outlet shopping, "Think Tanger". Over 65 name brand designer outlets, including Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren, Seiko, Totes, Coach Outlet, Banana Republic, Chico's Outlet and more.

On the Branson Landing, the waterfront shopping and dining development in downtown Branson, you'll find over 100 specialty stores and restaurants including Belk Department Store, Bass Pro, Brighton Collectibles, Coldwater Creek, White House/Black Market, and Kirkland's Home. There are plenty of options for dining, dessert, and night life on the Landing. The fountains in the center of the development provide a water-fire-light-music display each evening with special events and free outdoor concerts on select dates.

Free trolley service downtown!
But the Landing isn't the only shopping downtown. Be sure to spend some time in Historic Downtown Branson where you'll find boutiques, specialty stores, art galleries, jewelry stores, flea markets, antiques, thrift stores, diners, and more. Dick's 5 and 10 has been a Branson landmark for over 50 years! Historic Downtown is also where you'll find the Branson Fiddle Festival, Plumb Nellie Days, The Branson Centennial Museum, Autumn Daze, the Branson Veterans Day Parade, and the annual Adoration Parade.

Shopping at The Grand Village takes you to cobblestone streets lined with over two dozen specialty shops featuring boutiques, handcrafted items, entertainment, and restaurants. You'll find Kringles Christmas Store, Grand Glitz apparel, Mulberry Mill decor and gourmet foods, Peter Engler Woodcarving, Tatman's Fine Jewelry, Helwig Art Glass, Thomas Kincade Art Gallery and more. When you want a break from shopping, or just to satisfy a craving for sweets, relax at Sugar Leaf Treats, offering handcrafted cookies and cakes along with soups, sandwiches, quiches, and salads. I recommend the Ultimate BLT on their very own Tomato Basil Bread!

For demonstrating artists, handmade items, and one-of-a-kind treasures, visit Branson Mill Craft Village. You'll find original drawings and paintings, woven items, pottery, unique jewelry, custom apparel, leather products, hand-made musical instruments, and more. Relax at the Pickin' Porch for free entertainment or grab a bite to eat at Big Jim's Sandwich Shop. The Mill even offers classes and a Farmer's Market.

These are just of few of the many shopping opportunities in Branson. For more possibilities, browse the listings at Branson Shopping.

With it's convenient location, Cameron's Crag Bed and Breakfast is the perfect base for your Branson shopping trip. World-Fest at Silver Dollar City

Stiltwalkers at Silver Dollar City World-Fest

World-Fest at Silver Dollar City

April 17 - May 5, 2013

I love all the festivals at Silver Dollar City. Each one has something special to offer so it is impossible for me to pick a favorite.
With World-Fest I enjoy the opportunity to see performers from around the world without the need to travel abroad. Every year brings new entertainers, musicians, and cultures to the southwest Missouri theme park along with some favorites from previous years.

Amamos Argentina fits into both the "new" and "old favorites" categories. This is the first year the group has been on the World-Fest schedule, but Los Pampas Gauchos have wowed World-Fest visitors in previous years. They are joined on stage by dancers with aerial choreography and a new twist to the classic Argentinian tango.

New for 2013 is Spettacolo Musicale, an Italian-American performance featuring Carnegie Hall performer Aaron Caruso, Siciliian soprano Cristina Carollo, the Gondolier Band and the Spettacolo Dancers.

Russia is represented at World-Fest by Trio Voronezh presenting a wide variety of musical genres played entirely on traditional Russian instruments. You'll hear classical works along with folk songs and popular music.

Music from the Alps has been a part of World-Fest for several years but Streichmusik Alder is a new group at the festival. See them for Alpine folk music, traditional instruments, and their own special style of yodeling.

Island Fire presents the traditional songs, dances, and costumes of the South Pacific Polynesian Islands including Samoa, New Zealand, and Hawaii. World Champion Fire Knife Anelu Iakopo and his dazzling flames are sure to be an amazing show.

Other performers include Dearbhail Finnegan, Ireland's Premier Harpist, Robin Slater on the Irish bodhran and silver flute, Ecuador Manta using traditional Andean instruments, Kerry Christensen on the Swiss alphorn and Austrian zither, and Viva Italia, making the Red Gold Courtyard come alive with living statues, floral trees, a live music box ballerina, and costumed stilt walkers.

At this writing, World-Fest 2013 has not yet opened. All photos are from the 2012 festival and will be updated as soon as new photos are available.

Reality TV Comes to Branson MO Pawn Shop

A new TV series filmed in Branson MO will air on the Discovery Channel this summer.

At least eight episodes of a new reality TV series Branson Pawn Shop--a working title for the series--are being filmed at the downtown Branson Pawn Shop. Some of the episodes have already been filmed with others scheduled for completion in March and April of this year.

According to the website for High Noon Entertainment, the producers of the series, the show revolves around the pawn shop and the people who come in looking to make a deal. The twist for the series is that potential customers can earn more money for the items they bring in by competing against Branson Pawn Shop staff in a specialized trivia game. The shop deals in a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, musical instruments, antiques, appliances, and memorabilia. They have been known to take in furs, cars, animals, currency, and everything in between. Says the High Noon Entertainment website, "Think of it like the History Channel's Pawn Stars with a twist."

The producers have posted a casting call for the show. Persons interested in being on the show need to be available to be in Branson at least one day between now and the end of April. Contact information is available on the High Noon website. The Branson Pawn Shop is located at the corner of Main and Commercial Streets in downtown Branson.

High Noon Entertainment produces Tough Love on  VH1  and Cake Boss on TLC. Other Reality TV shows who have visited Branson include Hotel Impossible and House Hunters. The movie "Winter's Bone" was filmed in the area.

Stone Hill Winery

Stone Hill Winery - BransonDid you know Missouri is one of the top wine-producing states in the nation?

Although many people think of Hermann when Missouri wines are mentioned, the state boasts nearly 100 wineries and vineyards in seven wine regions throughout the state, including the Ozark Mountain Region around Branson Missouri.

Since their opening in 1986, Stone Hill Branson has become a popular destination for area visitors and residents. For a one-of-a-kind gift or commemorative for special occasions, check out Stone Hill's custom laser-etching capabilities.

Located at 601 State Hwy 165 in Branson, Stone Hill Winery is just two blocks south of Hwy 76 and at the intersection of Hwy 165 and Green Mountain Drive (also known as "the yellow route" on area maps).
